1912 Original Antique London Underground Railways Map Guide (LM44)

1912 UNDERGROUND MAP OF LONDON - WHAT TO SEE AND HOW TO SEE IT. A fine example of the scarce early Pocket Guide to London designed London Geographical Institute and printed by George Philip Son for London Underground Electric Railways. Overall size 27cm x 20cm.This pocket map was printed for just one year in 1912 and was adapted from the larger Evening News Tube Map of London. This map shows the rarely seen vertical versionof the UndergrounD logo which was almost immediately abandoned for station signage and printed material. This was the last of the UERL green border series of maps 1908-1912. These were the first unified maps of the London Underground.
