Each issue is very good or better in stapled pictorial wrappers with light toning at the spines and edges. Each issue contains numerous illustrations and photographs. Each issue is Inscribed on the opening page from one of the publication's staff members, Jackie Callahan. A literary magazine presenting reflections on the Black experience, with photography, art, poetry, essays, short fiction, reviews and opinions, and calendars of Black events on campus. "This magazine is written to you brother, and you beautiful sister. We dedicate these pages to the kings and queens of the universe cuz we love your righteous ‘fros and your strong Black hearts and your smiles (when you be gettin ready to rip) and your bullet-ready minds when you be dealin in this hard old world" (from Volume 1 Number 2). No copies in commerce and, according to *OCLC*, only four institutions have Vol. 1 No. 1 (Duke, Kent State, NYPL, Wisconsin), and only Duke has all three issues.
