Small 4to, approximately 210 x 145 mm, 8 x 5½ inches, 240 small woodcuts in the text, mostly botanical apart from a few on pests in part 5, headpieces and decorated intials, printer's device to title page and colophon. 192 leaves numbered on rectos, (384 pages), [4],1-187, [1], bound in later full vellum, wine coloured gilt lettered label to spine, lacks first and last free endpapers. Binding slightly spotted, tiny hole to spine, edge of lower cover grazed with loss of vellum (80mm, 3 inches), title page lightly stained with 2 small neat repairs to blank side, crossed out small ink name and slight inking to printer's device, ink marginalia to 37 outer margins, mostly slight, apart from pages 45-48 which is heavy and with some underlining, nothing affecting text, small brown spot to top of outer margin from page 177 to end, not affecting text, small marginal repair to top of outer margin on blank side of colophon and neat ink name on printer's device, occasional small pale stain mostly to margins, otherwise a good tight clean copy, no loose pages. The 5 books on agriculture are each devoted to a single subject. The first deals with soil and farinaceous plants and their cultivation. The second part deals mainly with wine and winemaking. The third deals with gardens and flowers and their cultivation. Part four is given over to fruit trees and the final part deals with pests.
