Pocket Guide Camp Joseph T. Robinson, Arkansas - Ephemeral Guide To A Wwii Training/German Pow Camp In Arkansas. Special Service, Irtc

"Camp Robinson, north of Little Rock, Arkansas, was home to the state National Guard and a number of U.S. Army Infantry units upon America's entry into World War II. It grew into a training center and German prisoner-of-war camp, eventually becoming the second largest city in the state and instructing over 75,000 G.I.s in combat, medicine, and support before their deployment overseas. This pocket guide was published locally by the Special Service, IRTC in 1944 or 1945, after the camp had been designated an Infantry Replacement Training Center. Various locations of recreation and official business are labeled throughout. Text on the verso provides further details about camp amenities like service clubs, cafeterias, transportation, communication, and shopping. As of April 2024, WorldCat notes only one example of the map, at the Arkansas State Archives. OCLC# 175294705. Source." Sheet Width (in) 17.75 Sheet Height (in) 12 Condition Description Creasing along originally issued fold lines and some moderate soiling on the front and back covers (verso). Good to very good overall.
